AVR Automotive (AVR) warranty covers our services, repairs and new parts for 12 months or 20,000km, whichever comes first (Warranty). The Warranty is provided to the customer shown on the invoice for the service, repair or new part (You). The Warranty is not transferable and ends on the date title in the vehicle is transferred. The Warranty is subject to the conditions set out in this document and any condition set out on the job card or invoice signed by the You.

Conditions of Warranty:

The Warranty will apply where the vehicle has been used normally for its intended purpose in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s guidelines. The Warranty will not apply if You or a third party has used the vehicle abnormally, the incorrect oil, lubricant, coolant or fuel has been used in the vehicle, the vehicle has not been properly maintained or operated by You or a third party, if the recommendations and instructions specified by the vehicle manufacturer are not followed, if You or a third party has repaired, dismantled or altered the new part or parts of the vehicle connected with the repair or service, You have not followed the advice of the mechanic providing the repair or service, only part of the required repair/service is completed or if the new part or service becomes defective due to an event beyond the control of AVR Automotive. The Warranty does not apply if the original invoice for the work completed has not been paid in full.

The Warranty does not apply to second-hand parts or parts supplied by You, the labour required to replace second-hand parts or parts supplied by You or a Warranty claim in respect of AVR’s services and repairs to the extent that the claim is caused by the second-hand part or the part supplied by You. Some reconditioned or remanufactured parts may come with a warranty provided by the entity who has provided the reconditioned or remanufactured part.

The Warranty will not apply where modification of the vehicle from that of the original manufacture’s design causes or contributes to a fault with the service, repair or new part.

Radiators: the Warranty does not apply to new radiators that have failed due to electrolysis (stray current). AVR will measure, record and repair (if required), stray current in new radiators fitted by AVR. However, AVR is not responsible under the Warranty for electrolysis problems that may develop.

Air-conditioning: the Warranty does not apply to air-conditioning components failing (such as system hoses and valves), while AVR makes a visual inspection as work is conducted, these parts may fail after inspection because of the system pressure being increased when the air-conditioning system is correctly charged.

Provision of Warranty:

Unless otherwise agreed in writing between You and AVR where the Warranty does apply to a defect with a repair, service or new part, AVR will either repair or replace a new part in its absolute discretion and conduct repairs on the vehicle. AVR reserves the right to engage a third party of AVR’s choosing to conduct the assessment and/or repairs on the vehicle.

Other than as provided in this Warranty document, You cannot claim incidental loss, damage or expenses connected with the Warranty Claim (including towing costs).

Process to Make a Warranty Claim:

To make a Warranty claim contact AVR by telephone or email using the contact information at the top of this Warranty document or by immediately returning the vehicle to AVR. Please provide AVR with a copy of the invoice for the work and a description of the issue. AVR will test/assess the vehicle to determine if the Warranty claim is valid. You will be responsible for the cost of making a Warranty claim, including tests/assessments of the vehicle by AVR (or third party appointed by AVR). In the event that the Warranty claim is valid AVR will be responsible for the cost of testing/assessing the vehicle other than cost of testing/assessment by a third party not appointed by AVR.
