Back in the day, power steering was simply an optional extra which Holden offered on the release of the 1965 - 1968 HD/HR models. In fact, the first Holden to have power steering standard was the HK Brougham in 1968.
How times have changed!
You would rarely find any vehicle now without power assisted steering. This often overlooked component is really quite an impressive piece of kit, but really only ever noticed when something's not right!
Very poor steering response, sluggish steering and difficulty turning the steering wheel are all factors to look out for and may indicate there is a power steering problem or leak.
